When to get a grey license plate for my car?

Company cars with grey license plates receive tax benefits. But to receive a grey license plate, you must meet a number of conditions as a business owner:

You are self-employed or entrepreneur and have a VAT number.
You are the legal person of the car and it is in your name.
At least 10% of your business mileage will be done in this car.

If you do not meet the above requirements, your van will keep an ordinary yellow registration number.

I have a grey license plate on my car. Do I pay bpm?

In principle, you do not have to pay Bpm with a grey license plate on your car. However, you do pay an additional taxable benefit. There are a number of situations in which you also pay bpm. If you convert a small or large van into a passenger car, the grey license plate expires. You will also pay bpm if you sell a van that is less than 5 years old to a private individual. If you stop your business, you will also start paying bpm again on your vehicle(s).
